  • WordPress for Magnum Ink

    Client Location: Las Vegas, NV

While doing some official industry research (better said, “surfing the forums at Pirate4x4.com”), I came across a company making a big splash in the custom screen printing world, Magnum Ink. The shirt designs I saw were both innovative, grungy and clean at the same time, something very hard to pull off with one creative work. [...]

  • Rated X Motorsports

    Client Location: Santee, CA

This was one of our first custom ecommerce websites. Rated X had some specific requirements that prevented use of an off of the shelf package, so putting together a custom solution better served their needs. They actually have two websites, both featuring their own products and content (photos, etc.), but are both managed from one admin interface. This vastly simplifies updating the site.

The overwhelming direction given to this project was, “make it fun”. Understanding that this site was geared toward children’s dentistry gave us the opportunity to design the look of the site in a way that would appeal to children, but still provide the necessary information for their parents.

The Octane Difference

We build relationships, not just websites. Seriously, that's the difference. We prefer to think of it as a partnership rather than a project. Anyone can build you a website and send you a bill. We specialize in working with companies that need a Web tool. That tool may be a static website or it may be a full-on turbo powered, nitrous injected big block ecommerce/blog/photo gallery/forum/community web application. Regardless of what your business needs, we want to UNDERSTAND those needs and work WITH you to craft a solution that gives you a distinct advantage over your competition. Please use our Contact Form if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.

2010 Hot Rod Power Tour Photos

The 2010 version of the Hot Rod Power Tour rolled through Birmingham, Alabama on June 10th. We were fortunate enough to attend the event and of course snapped some photos and video while we were there. The turnout was rumored to be close to 4000 cars throughout the tour. What economy troubles?

Congratulations to Goolsby Customs for coming away with top honors from the Power Tour Challenge. We will have a special writeup on Goolsby Customs in an upcoming post when we start construction of their new website.

Video – Crusher Ridge Rock Racing

Be sure to watch all the way to the end to see a great save and an “unsavable” rollover with fire – all the makings of a great weekend.

This video was shot at one of the “bounty hills” called “Cro Wall” at Crusher Ridge. $800 to the first person to successfully get over the top of it. Needless to say, there’s no fear of paying that money out anytime soon.

Video – Rick and Bubba Treetop Go-Kart Race

I had the pleasure of meeting the staff at Treetop Family Adventure yesterday while I was there to film the Rick and Bubba go-kart race. I was very impressed with their facility and attention to detail. The service was great and everyone I came into contact was friendly and carried a smile. I can’t wait to go back when I have more time to play around.

Note: If the video below skips during playback, click the “HD” button on the video. That will show the video in standard definition and be a little easier on your computer during playback.

iPhone/iPad users, click here to watch the video on your device.

2010 King of the Hammers UTV Race

I was on hand at the 2010 King of the Hammers race and was very interested in seeing as much of the UTV race as possible since Octane Media is in talks with a few sponsors for a full on UTV race team for 2011. The UTV race was great and I was really wishing I was behind the wheel instead of standing there holding the camera.

WordPress for Golden Mountain Park

Golden Mountain Park is no stranger to the off road community. If you have ever seen an episode of Xtreme 4×4 where they field tested a vehicle, it was most likely at Golden Mountain Park. From mild fire road trails to extreme rock crawling and even mud bogging, GMP has it all. It was an honor to be contacted by the owners of the park to help them better market their park online. The requirements fit perfectly with WordPress. We worked with the staff to develop a custom theme and information strategy that is surely to help attract more visitors to the park. It will also help them get new information out to their patrons in a quick and cost effective manor. The new site can be seen at http://www.GoldenMountainParkLLC.com.

Gray Rock Spring Fling Rock Crawling Photos

Rock Crawling photos and video were the tasks of the day when I went out to Gray Rock this past weekend for the annual Spring Fling ride. The turnout was great and besides a little dust around the pits, the weekend was perfect. With all of the rain this area has seen lately, dust is a welcome change. I will have some video from the same event posted soon. Read the rest of this entry »

WordPress for AnkleSavers.com

I was contacted by Tom Crain of Ankle-Savers™ about improving the website for his new product. He has an innovative product that maintains a very high level of simplicity. The website needed to reflect those product features. The main goals of this project were: high impact, simple (one page if possible), show product through video. See for yourself if you think these goals were accomplished – AnkleSavers.com.
